Everybody Finds Out Lyrics
We see no change in sight
Watching her decline
She gets on a midnight plane
She's done it a thousand times
When love starts out in the darkness
It doesn't do well in the light
Affairs of the heart
That start out in the dark
Usually stay with the night
I know you don't agree
(Everyday you tell me)
I know you don't agree
I know he loves me
Everyday he calls me
He says he adores me
What can I say
You can't love him
You can't have him
I do have him, most of the time
Anywhere we can
Anytime we can
Get away... get away
Maybe it's just something else
That you can't tell me
Maybe it's in the way that you
Look away from me
It's not like any words
Need to be said
Well you always know when something's wrong,
My friend
I know you don't agree
(Everyday you tell me)
I know you don't agree
I know he loves me
Everyday he calls me
He says he adores me
What can I say
You can't love him
You can't have him
I do have him, most of the time
Anywhere we can
Anytime we can
Get away... get away
I know you don't agree...
Well, I know you don't agree
You can't love him
You can't have him
I do have him, most of the time
Anywhere we can, baby
Anytime we can
Get away
We see no change in sight
Watching her decline
She gets on a midnight plane
She's done it a thousand times
When love starts out in the darkness
It doesn't do well in the light
Affairs of the heart
That start out in the dark
Usually stay with the night
When nobody sees them
At least, not together
She rarely goes out
She spends every day
Waiting for the day...
When everybody finds out
Don't you know.... don't you know...
You can't love him
You can't have him
I do have him, most of the time
Anywhere we can
Anytime we can
Get away... get away
Watching her decline
She gets on a midnight plane

I think the lyrics to this song would make for an obvious meaning. It sounds like an affair is taking place. Sounds like a married man has two women. One being his wife and another that swears that he loves her more than his wife yet he continues to be with his wife. "Affairs of the heart that start out in the dark usually stay with the night" sounds like a late night, secretive relationship.
You mean to say you didn't know what a homewrecker Stevie Nicks is?
It's a sort of argument between two women, a wife and a mistress, with the wife singing the neurotic chorus and the mistress singing the verses. Ultimately, the song shows the breakdown of both of them, the wife as she fears for losing her husband and the mistress as she fears for being discovered, as it sounds like she is the man's coworker, possibly even his boss.
Jujubee23 I have to disagree with you because I have just read that this song is about president Bill Clinton and his scandalous affair with Monica Lewinsky. And I have heard that this is also about Christine McVie that was about to leave FM. Neverless it's her another song about political issues. Here's the link to the netsite that proves this is mainly about Clinton and his assistant: https://twitter.com/hourlybn/status/1647963497886564361
[Edit: Grammar]
This is about an affair between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham around 97 and 2001, Lindsey was married and a new father at the time.
