Miranda Lyrics
At the end of the day
The end of the light
She keeps the remains of all of her foes
Miranda is dying with all of her might
She never comes
She always goes
She sticks the camera right into her arm
Anything to forget what the trouble's about
It causes her pain,
That's part of the charm
She's down for the count then finally out
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
She sees her face in another magazine
And the walls all close in as the fancy takes flight
Can't stand to be loved,
But she loves to be seen
She slips down headlong into the night
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
And then all at once the sun starts to rise
She sees her father holding her down
All the daylight is poison to her eyes
She slips down the shade and lets herself drown
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
The lights shine down the marina
All across her safety zone
But loneliness follows Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone
Ooh... ooh... ooh... ooh... ooh... ooh...
The end of the light
She keeps the remains of all of her foes
Miranda is dying with all of her might
She never comes
She always goes
Anything to forget what the trouble's about
It causes her pain,
That's part of the charm
She's down for the count then finally out
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
And the walls all close in as the fancy takes flight
Can't stand to be loved,
But she loves to be seen
She slips down headlong into the night
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
She sees her father holding her down
All the daylight is poison to her eyes
She slips down the shade and lets herself drown
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
All across her safety zone
But loneliness follows Miranda
And Miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone

This is my favorite off their new album and I can't believe I'm the first to post. Awesome Song.
I doubt Stevie Nicks would create a song based on a character without so much character. Surely it's deeper than that. But anyways, I dont like the song per say, but I like the lyrics because of how helplessly and regetfully isolated this girl is. Its kind of like me. Oh and my name is Miranda, too. =)
My name is Miranda too, it is the reason I bought the cd actually because I absolutely love Fleetwood Mac, and I didn't really care for the song either. The song is really odd, and doesn't embody the name Miranda at all in my opinion.
about spunheart's comment. the song is a Lindsey Buckingham song...
Great song, dark meaning contrasted with incredibly uplifting music....LB was and is a genius
HAHAHA. yes, spunheart, it is a LB song. once in a while lindsey will write a song with a name as the title.. like "caroline" :) But I can see how you thought it was a stevie song because she has written "sara" & "rhiannon"
It's about the feelings of hollowness felt by an aspiring celebrity, who is haunted by the memories of her abusive and possibly incestuous father.
I heard that this song was written about Miranda, the TV show character from Sex And the City.
Sounds implausible but anything is possible I guess.
