Portland Lyrics

I think we’ve been here long enough.
We’ve built quite a hole here.
And I wouldn’t have stayed so long,
But where would I have gone?
(This is the last time I breathe through my nose)
There’s nothing like a bed for one.
I’ve built quite a home here
Away from the telephone, away from everyone.

So hold on. You haven’t lost anything
It’s not like you ever cared. So why now this face?

So you’ve found your way to Portland. I’m sure you feel at home there.
But this cheap change of scenery won’t change what you’ve done to me.

So hold on. You haven’t lost everything.
It’s not like you ever cared. So why now this face?

(Is this heaven?)

this song has such heartfelt vocals, and its very reminscent of the gloria record. but its a step in a completely different direction when compared to the full length. still a great song though, i love how the december drive can change the pace of their music but still have their own little twist to it.

Dave, you'll never know how much you affected me. So here I am, sending your own lyrics back at you. This song sums up most of my feelings.. even though I know the intent was not anywhere close to what I take it as. But isn't that the beauty of it. People take your words to mean what they need them to.

i love that you said that this reminds you of the gloria record, darkershadeofwinter, because all that i can think about when i listen to this band is how much they remind me of mineral.
