rising tide, i think refers to youth. so youth spent engaged in days that are eventually lost in your hearts final regrets and mourns. billy is so deep, its gnar gnar. thats my best shot, when i saw them, he said this song is about cause and effect decision making. whatever that means
fucking amazing. this song is self-explanatory(as with all songs in my opinion..) and has multiple meanings(to each his own..)but on some parts..(once a letter is written it's not so easily sent..)which i think talks about miscommunication or how hard it is sometimes for somebody to communicate what's really on their minds; and the part where he sings 'like trying to find 2 of 3, but settling for one of me instead' i think means that some people only appreciate what they like about a certain person and not the person as a whole(fuck them, i say..) ; these parts i like the most
