I'll Find a Way Lyrics

I'll find a way to see you again

I used to think that anything I'd do
Wouldn't matter at all, anyway
But now I find that when it comes to you
I'm the winner of cards I can't play

Wait for me
Darling, I need you desperately, here
And I'll find a way to see you again

The rain is like an orchestra to me
Little gifts from above meant to say
"Girl, you falling at his feet
isn't lovely or stunning today,"

Wait for me
I'm alive when you're here with me, stay
And I'll find a way to see you again

Why do the street lamps die
When you're passing by?
Like a hand that won't stay on my shoulder, tonight
If you held me close, would you laugh it away?
Would you dare the glance that I steal to stay?

And I'll find a way to see you again

The rain will bring me down...

To me, this song is about reconnecting with someone you thought you were over and done with. An ex or something. He reappears in her life again, and she's finding herself back where she was before...needing him desperately. He rekindled her feelings and all that. Things could be so great if they were together again, but how can they be together...? She'll find a way!

It's so melancholy and yet hopeful at the same time.
Edited by delial on February 20 2008, at 10:43PM

WOW...i don't really think this is that straight-forward at all...I think there is much to be discussed about this song.

Its that inner emotion of yearning for someone yet at the same time knowing that you shouldn't...read the contradictions: girl, you falling at his feet isn't lovely or stunning today wait for me i'm alive when you're here with me, stay

You are almost disgusted with yourself for caring that much yet something inside can't control your thoughts of how much you want that person to be there.

This theme of uncertaintly is almost like the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other...the devil fantasizes of ways to being together but then your head takes over, or angel, and you know that before you do anything " the rain will bring me down."

GOD i'm right in the middle of this right now. Its almost become not even about him anymore and more about this inner battle of accepting the situation and choosing to move on...anyone else agree?

Yeah, I see a little bit of that uncertainty too.. along for the "yearning for someone."

It's about waiting for someone you shouldn't wait for, 'cause it's never gonna happen, but you can't help but hold out hope.

what do you suppose "I'm the winner of cards I can't play" means?

I love this song, and I'm going through everybit of words shes saying in this song, and when she says "I'm the winner of cards I can't play" she means she can fall for someone but never be with them", for watever the case mite be. There isnt one morning I dont think about him and when i go to sleep hes always on my mind especially since nite is when I write my letters to him, but never send them. I got this idea from the notebook, my favorite movie in the whole world. I write about him everyday and deep down whats fucked up and hurts me the most is that I can never be with him, and he doesnt know this and probably will never know how much I love him. :-( ~I Love You Forever and For Always Garrett~

Well, I heard this song at the end of an ER episode the other night, and I fell in love with it. To me the song is sending different messages about one situation between a boy and a girl. But, I gues that's how real life is- nothing is ever straight forward! Rachael's style is a little different, and it's strangely enchanting!

I think "lyriclover81" has hit on the top of the head. From a personal experience I can relate to this, you wanted that person with you for so long, but then its no longer a fight about him rather your innerself and current situation.

I didn't know they played this on ER too... I originally found this song when it was played on Spanish soap serie Los Serrano (in segment where Lucia had just died and his hudbans/children/friends were mourning his death) and have been in love with song since then.

Beautiful, beautiful song.

Memory

Truthfully, I think it's not about someone you "shouldn't be with". It's about someone who you are conflicted about. Going through the lyrics:

In the first verse, she is saying she used to pine after him with no returned affection. Now she is able to get what she wants but no longer wants to "play those cards" (i.e. attempt to get the affection).

Second verse she is stating that she is being stoic, despite her conflicted feelings. She's struggling internally to decide whether he is worth it or not.

The third verse simply explains her inner turmoil and confusion. Why does he still make her happy? What would happen if she did "play her cards" and she ended up in his arms, would this all just be that funny thing that no longer mattered?

Throughout it she tells her lover/former lover to wait. Just wait while she figures it all out and comes back to see him... and in her heart, she knows she will.

"The rain will bring me down" is just is just her way of saying how, given the circumstances, even something as simple as a rainy day can send her in a tailspin, crushing her because of all of her conflicting emotions.
