Light Up Ahead Lyrics

Take this heart of darkness
I give it all
And in all the emptiness
I refill it all

The times that I feel nothing
You bring enough
So I can live for something
You lift me up

And all these bad dreams
I wake up to the light
And when I can’t see
I wake up to your eyes

Wake me up
There’s a light up ahead
There’s a light up ahead
There’s a light up ahead (wake me up)
There’s a light up ahead (wake me up)

Get so complicated
You live enough
Turn into what you hated
We’re breaking off

The times I feel like nothing
You bring enough
So I can live for something
You lift me up

And all these bad dreams
I wake up to the light
And when I can’t see
I wake up to your eyes

Wake me up
There’s a light up ahead
There’s a light up ahead
There’s a light up ahead (wake me up)
There’s a light up ahead (wake me up)

I feel honored to be the first to comment on this song lol. It is simply amazing... Further Seems Forever is back and in my opinion better than ever. To me, this song has a double meaning, like most FSF songs. The band is made up of all Christians and even though they claim to not be a Christian Rock Band, all their songs can be taken two different ways. Either A, the obvious, toward a girl, or B a song about God and/or Jesus. To me the obvious meaning its about a realationship gone sour, but he realizes that things will get better and he's seen glimpses of how it can be. Or B, its about when all in the world is gone but God... he is still enough. It says "The times that I feel nothing, You bring enough, So I can live for something, You lift me up." The You in my mind stand for the Lord. This is what He can do for us all, and I just love a band with such talent that allows us to see what we want to. If you are not religious this is a song about a girl, if you are then it may have a deeper meaning. Either way is rocks. So I just thank this unbelievably amazing band for their talents. And hope they keep on going for a looong long time.

its weird how every album they have a new singer, but out of all the albums i think jon bunch has the most commercial voice...great song though...lots of respect for this band

FSF's new songs is amazing. Anyone who doesn't like it because Jon's voice isn't "edgy" enough is more than likely some loser hardcore kid who has only been listening to Further since Jason joined the band. Any real FSF fan can tell this is probably the best the band has sounded since Chris (not that Jason wasn't a good singer). I love this song, the whole sound of it and the lyrics almost seem symbolic of the band's triumphant return. I cannot wait for the new album.

I love this song. The video shed a lot of light on the meaning for me. I think there are a lot of religious undertones to this song (obviously since the members of the band are Christians) and it basically is saying that no matter what we go through in our lives that there is always that "light up ahead." But the thing I love about FSF is that this song can be taken many other ways whether it be about a relationship between someone and God or a relationship between two people. Great song

i really like this song, i wasnt to fond of the new album though. i think maybe because "the moon is down" is one of my favorite albums of all time, and i love chris's lyrics. jason was good as well, not as good as chris, but good. i really dont know how i'll feel about this album later. maybe it'll grow on me. but this song is still sweet. i just wish it wasnt FSF.

I think that Jon's voice was the right one for this album, Jason's for How to Start a Fire, and Chris...well, i'm not really a fan, but that's besides the point. For the instrumental sound and overall tone of the third album, they have the right lead singer. Now, as far as meaning...While it's open to interpretation, like most FSF songs, I think the Christian slant works better, particularily with the "light up ahead" theme and the first verse speaking of a heart of darkness. Oh, and the CD has an acoustic version of this if you bought it at Best Buy...I much prefer it to the full studio cut.

easily the best FSF song. ranks above monachetti and new year's project
