My name is Cupid Valentino, the modern day Cupid
And I just want to say one thing

Happy Valentine's Day
(Every day the 14th)
I don't think y'all heard me
I just want to say Happy Valentine's Day
(Every day the 14th)
Can y'all dig that?
Now when arrows don't penetrate, see
(Cupid grabs the pistol) uh, yeah, now, now looky here
He shoots straight for your heart
(Now, and he won't miss you)
But that's alright y'all won't believe in me anyways
But

You won't believe in me, but you would fancy leprechauns or groundhogs
No thank you, Easter Bunny
(There's all this talk about Santa Claus, but see love will rule reign supreme)

Happy Valentine's Day
(Every day the 14th) You got it
When Cupid knocks at your door
(You can't ignore me)
There's no need to run
So, Happy Valentine's Day, hey
(Every day the 14th)
Now I may have it all wrong, see
If you know what loves mean
Well, (somebody tell me)
'Cause they just don't believe in me

You won't believe in me, but you would fancy leprechauns or groundhogs
No thank you, Easter Bunny
(There's so much fuss about Santa Claus, but see Cupid will not be defeated)

Happy Valentine's Day
Every day the 14th
Now I know your hearts have grown cold
And that bothers me
Now I understand 'cause I use to be a bad boy in my day
I know you're trying to protect your lil' feelings
But you can't run away
Oh, oh

(You won't believe in me, but you would fancy)
Hey, don't you supposed to be some kind of player or something?
(Bunny)

Well keep on runnin', playa
'Cause I got my good shoes on
And I got 'em tied up tight
So, you're going to find out tonight

Got a sweet lil' darling back in my corner
Below I know I love her, but act like I don't want her
Surrounded by the lonely, but yet feel like a loner
Could be an organ donor
The way I give up my heart, but
Never know because shit, I never tell her
Ask me how I'm feelings I'd holla' that it's irrela'
I don't get myself caught up in the Jello gella'
And puddin' pops, that others opt to call falling in love, but
For the record, have you ever rode a horse?
Like for you to take me to Pluto?
I said, "Of course!"
But if you ain't a sweety indeedy, I won't endorse
Hans Solo 'til I'm hit by the bullet, so may the force
Be with you, and I'll hit you when better time permits
For now, show me samples, examples of why you're the shit
But how am I to know with the profession that I'm in?
And if you do not know me, then how could you be my friend?

(Happy Valentine's, Happy Valentine's)
(Happy Valentine's Day) Happy Valentine's Day

(Happy Valentine's, Happy Valentine's)
(Happy Valentine's Day) Happy Valentine's Day

(Happy Valentine's, Happy Valentine's)
(Happy Valentine's Day) Happy Valentine's Day

(Happy Valentine's, fuck that Valentine's)
(Fuck that Valentine's) fuck that Valentine's Day

(Fuck that Valentine, fuck that Valentine)
(Fuck that Valentine's day) fuck that Valentine's day

(Fuck that Valentine, fuck that Valentine)
(Fuck that Valentine's day) fuck that Valentine's day

(Fuck that Valentine, fuck that Valentine) Hoo
(Fuck that Valentine's day) fuck that Valentine's day

when i listen to this i visualize andre 3000 as cupid......he's chasing people who's running from love, and eventually he sees it as a regular ass job.....after "work" he goes home to his girlfriend and the ill effects of having to chase people all day for a living in the name of love have changed his perception of love AND people, he can't express his true feelings because of the bitterness towards his "job" and it's completely affecting his personality.....basically this song is Cupid fed up with people AND his job

This disc took me a minute to get used to, but I cannot deny everything Andre touches turns gold...better yet, platinum! Good song. It's deep, even though it's light hearted.

Technically this song is by Andre 3000, not Outkast.

Ok the song is pretty self explanatory. Everyone is tired of Cupid and love and Cupid is fed up with it. He can't understand how people believe in Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny but not him. He also says that he understands he has caused trouble when it comes to love but he is going to fix it and everyone should believe in Cupid

    My Interpretation

Wrong Wrong Wrong. It goes without saying that 3000 is incredibly gifted. I have always noticed that he has had a special interest in understating love and relationships...and thats what the Love Below is all about it. Imagine Cupid (True Love) talking to 3 Stacks. Now 3000 is the big time rapper has been through a lot of women

"Hey! Don't you supposed to be some kind of player or something?" "But how am I to know with the profession that I'm in?"

Cupid is telling Andre if you don't believe in real love why do you believe in other fantastical things (not Santa or the Easter Bunny but ideas)

As you get older and keep going through girls you "run" away from the idea of "True Love" but it keeps after you the farther you get

"Well keep on runnin', player 'Cause I got my good shoes on And I got 'em tied up tight So, you're going to find out tonight!"

3000 thinks cause hes of a certain stereotype involving girls that he cant share his feelings saying he does not want to get involved with all the things that come with a relationship

"Got a sweet lil' darling back in my corner Below I know I love her, but act like I don't want her Surrounded by the lonely, but yet feel like a loner Could be an organ donor The way I give up my heart, but Never know because ? shit, I never tell her! Ask me about my feelings I'd holla' that it's irrela' I don't get myself caught up in the Jello gella'"

But cupid says that this so called true love can take him to new heights:

For the record, have you ever rode a horse? Would I like for you to take me to Pluto? I said, "Of course!"

In a conversation with cupid he basically says if your not mature enough and ripe to be involved in a relationship then don't. Goodluck till then but In the meantime give him examples why he's the shit going through a a bunch of girls (sarcasm). Then finally ponders how cupid could help him if hes never made an effort to do what cupid tells him to do. Its like a Christianity god or cupid in this case is always there for you. If you choose to work hard love will be there to be your friend.

But if you ain't a sweety indeedy, I won't endorse Hans Solo till I'm hit by the bullet, so may the force Be with you, and I'll hit you when better time permits For now, give me examples of why you're the shit! But how am I to know with the profession that I'm in? And if you do not know me, then how could you be my friend?

    My interpretation.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

Fast Car

"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
