Mm, yeah yeah

I've been waiting all day here for ya bae
So won't you come sit and talk to me
You tell me how we're gonna be together always
Hope you know that when it's late at night
I hold on to a pillow tight
And think about how you promised me forever

I never thought that anyone (mm) could make me feel this way (uh)
Now that you're here boy all I want is just a chance to say

Get out (leave) right now
It's the end of you and me
It's too late (now) and I can't wait for you to be gone
'Cause I know about her (who?)
And I wonder (why?) how I bought all the lies
You said that you would treat me right
But you was just a waste of time (waste of time)

Tell me why you looking so confused
When I'm the one who didn't know the truth
How could you ever be so cold?
To go behind my back and call my friend
Boy you must've gone and bumped your head
Because you left her number on your phone

So now after all is said and done
Maybe I'm the one to blame but
To think that you could be the one
Well, it didn't work out that way

Get out (leave) right now
It's the end of you and me
It's too late (now) and I can't wait for you to be gone (you to be gone)
'Cause I know about her (move)
And I wonder (why?) how I bought all the lies (all the lies)
You said that you would treat me right ('cause you)
But you was just a waste of time (waste of time)

I wanted you right here with me
But I have no choice you've got to leave
Because my heart is breaking
With every word I'm saying, I gave up everything I had (oh)
On something that just wouldn't last (oh)
But I refuse to cry
No tears will fall from these eyes (oh, oh)

Get out
Get out (leave) right now
It's the end of you and me (you and me)
It's too late (now) and I can't wait for you to be gone (you to be gone)
'Cause I know about her (move)
And I wonder (why?) how I bought all the lies (how did I buy all these lies?)
You said that you would treat me right
But you was just a waste of time (waste of time)(oh)

Get out (leave) right now
It's the end of you and me (hey yeah)
It's too late (now) and I can't wait for you to be gone (you to be gone)
'Cause I know about her (move)
And I wonder (why?) how I bought all the lies
You said that you would treat me right (treat me right)
But you was just a waste of time (waste of time) (oh yeah)

Get out (leave) (you and me)
It's too late (too late) (now)
About her (move) (why?)
You said that you would treat me right (no)
But you was just a waste of time (waste of time) (oh, ooh, oh)

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
