Seven Days Lyrics

Over time mistakes were few but I believe they're mine
Faded mind youth was old and the years were so unkind
I'm the one I face the change I know that stands before me
Believe in me cause I damn sure dont believe in you

I cannot deny myself my anger and my pride
I cannot deny another lie
Waiting to find another spike right through my hand
Hope I'm killed before I die

World's divide, long ago the memory's still inside
Chances shine, seven days our fears become entwined
Seasons change our time is gone our souls have grown much colder

Believe in me cause I damn sure don't believe in you

"Never again" are words that echo in my mind
Leaving still holds back the tide
Crucified with lies my blood turns into wine
Take a sip before i die

I cannot deny myself my anger and my pride
I cannot deny another lie
Waiting to find another spike right through my hand
I hope I'm killed before I die

Oh, before I

Over time mistakes were few but I believe they're mine (Nothing bad has happened, but I feel guilty anyway) Faded mind youth was old and the years were so unkind (someone who's more mature than others? Or perhaps simply a feeling of time passing one by.) I'm the one I face the change I know that stands before me (I know what I have to do) Believe in me cause I damn sure dont believe in you (I'm your saviour even if you don't want or deserve it)

I'm not sure how this fits into the rest of the song, but it might help anyone else who wants to try.

Yeah, I think of Christ too, mostly because of the mention of spikes through hands and blood turning to wine.

I think it looks at Christ as more of a person rather than a religious figure. His thoughts about having to die for all of mankind even though he doesn't want to and they don't deserve it. His struggle to be perfect, to deny himself feelings that are considered sinful - such as anger and pride.

On another note, this song kicks ass. Easily my favorite off the amazing album, along with Albatross and Pearls Before Swine. I love the lyrics of the second chorus.

It seems to be written in Jesus\'s point of view of the mistakes he made - dying for man. \"\"never again\" are the words that echo in my mind\" . Man is a pety, selfish, selfdestructive, and untrustworthy creature \"believe in me cause I damn sure don\'t believe in you\"

/\ that makes sense. However on a personal note, the first verse is very ambigious to anyone, an I always think about my own life and looking back on the last 10 years..18 - 28 years old..what i've done, and where i've been.

It seems like the writer might be looking through Christ's eyes through their own understanding. Some of it is true though. God doesn't believe we can save ourselves. And He's right. After a while killing a bull for sacrifice becomes just killing a bull. We are only capable of doing so much, especially in this flesh. God made himself lower than the angles to save us. So anyone who believes in Jesus will not go to Hell, no the Lake of Fire. They will not experience the second death.

So you believe in Jesus to receive the gift of salvation. Because only God can save us from what's going on, especially spiritually. When you believe in Christ we receive the Holy Spirit. You become one with Christ, part of the Church.

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Romans 8:3

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Ephesians 5:29-31

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

1 Corinthians 6:19

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
