I can't believe no one has commented on this song. this is such an awesome band.
what I think the song is about is a person who spends all of his time thinking about dreams and plans but never gets around to any of it because he's wasted too much time thinking about it.
I loved this song when it came out and still do now. When I was younger, to me this song was about all the dreams that got put on hold becuase of circumstance.
Now that I am older, and more comfortable with my place in the world, I think about the world I want for my children, and the line about a grey mouth makes me think about the way you hope for the best for your kids, but know that the world is changing rapidly and being a dreamer of a better way.
Your take on it is interesting though.
