This song is about depression. Hating your life but feeling completely powerless to change it. You feel like you're just throwing your life away, and you hate yourself for it, but you feel like you can't do anything about it.
A man who ignores the recommendations of a witch and is cursed to ennui. He begs her to stop but there is no reprieve.
It is not a positive outlook. Everything in his life is slow, boring, and monotonous and he is powerless to change it.
