This is everything that I wanted
Do you believe that I tried so hard to take it home
But never felt a single moment
Life has been a place where I've wandered
Moving slowly to understand what I can grasp
But understand that it's still not right

So come back to me (he's always waiting)

I can't find it but maybe I'll cope
And can you hide it and never let go?
Come back to you, I only knew

Lies have covered all of the smiles
And wakened thoughts that have turned my heart
To face the wind
And then fall to where I know I'll fit, but you
Do you believe that I wanted
Something other than fallen hearts that just
Belong
To places where the bridges give in

Can you see what I felt when I told you
Can you cope when it runs right through you
Cause my heart it is broken with love that is
Coped
And now you tell me that I have something that's missing?

This is my favorite Falling Up song. I heard a part of this song from a friend and bought the CD just because of that. And now I love all of their music. It's so nice to see a Christian band that really is Christian. Awesome music, lyrics, everything.

I heard this song through my girlfriend and have loved it for a long time, but I had no idea Falling Up was a Christian band. I don't get how these lyrics have anything ot do with Christ. Am I retarded, or what? Help.

MYTH: All "Christian" bands sing about Jesus non-stop.

TRUTH: "Christian" bands would be thrown out quicker than that pair of bell-bottoms you bought last week if that were the case.

Tight song. But whats it mean? Also Crashings beats Dawn Escapes by a million. I think the lyrics are too out there on Dawn Escapes and don't really have a message. None of them move me.

    umm OOOK ther Theprofecy.

MYTH: if Christian bands sang about God all the time then they'd be thrown out quicker then the pair of bell-bottem jeans you bought last week.

FACT: even if they did, they wouldn't care, because alot of Christians don't care about what the world think of them. and bands like Kutless, Falling Up, anf Jonah 33 and countless others sig about God ALL the time. Look up their lyrics and prove me wrong!

I think that the guys are saying that they've had the lord in their lives but they've fallen back a little bit and they've been finding their way back to the lord(So come back to me,He's always there).Thats what i think at least...

I think it's a song about people who live their lives full of everything they think would fill their empty gaps, but never fills the gap inside their heart....this gap can only be filled by Jesus/God

this is everything that I wanted do you believe that I tried so hard to take it home but never felt a single moment life has been a place where I've wandered moving slowly to understand what I can grasp But understand that it's still not right

"understand that this life is still not right"

"So Come Back To Me" (he's always waiting) (Jesus is always waiting to hear those words from people)

"Come back to you, I only knew"

The person says "come back to you" (back to God, because it's the only thing they knew would ever fill the gap inside of them...)

"cause my heart it is broken with love that is coped and now you tell me that I have something that's missing?"

The person's relationship is broken, with their spouse, but they say they have something that's missing....they might have lust, but what they don't have...is Love....

Love is From God, Lust is from Satan...

Jesus replied: " 'LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'LOVE your neighbor as yourself.'[b] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

    • Matthew 22:37-40

See, it's not a struggle to find and keep Jesus, it's the Love Relationship, not the Religion that keeps the fire strong for God.....

i love this song and i love this band.

"Escalates" is one of the first songs that i heard by Falling Up. I heard other songs by this band, but this takes the cake... it is so good and i just about heard everyday on the Gospel Music Channle.

And i do agree with you magraz757, it is the Love Relationship, not the Religion that keeps the fire strong for God...

    God bless you dude...peace!!

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
