Nowhere Again Lyrics

Cellophane flowers never happened for me
I've been sleeping the day off
Watching the night fall
Covering nowhere
Filling my time share

There's a woman in the mirror in a fiery state
As she motions to me I start turning away
She's lifting her dress up
Trying to keep up

You'd be surprised how we race
While our lives erased

Another alone on an everyday night
Thinking the morning
Looking for alright
Warming the blood flow with poison
I don't know why

Maybe the rain will stop following me
Dripping the colors
Running the daylight
Over the cloud burst
Hoping it don't burst

Right before my eyes
Erased, our lives erased

We know we're lost in nowhere now
Now we know we're lost in nowhere now

Maybe the rain will stop following me
With millions of colors reflected in daylight
Right on the kick drum, turning the sound up

Another alone on an everyday night
I think in the morning, I think I'll be alright
Watching the blood flow
No wonder I don't know why
There's a woman in the mirror in a fiery state
She motions to me--I start pulling away
She's lifting her dress up--all the way up
Don't look surprised
Erased, our lives erased

This is such a great song. The lyrics are so beautiful and the music matches it wonderfully. Great harmonizing by the Curtis brothers and awesome drumming by Garza. Good stuff. I'm looking forward to hopefully see this live someday, I've heard their live shows are the best. Excitement.

yeah those artists are really deep and inspired, i just wish they could use their power of presenting visions to people, for some more optimistic visions to try and show solutions to that which they wine about, though that can be hard and leave people depressed say if the government doesn't pay attention and leaves the seeming reality lowly

'You'd be surprised how we race While our lives erased'

We get so caught up with stupid things in our life. We need to slow down and look at the beautiful things and stop racing.

'Warming the blood flow with poison I don't know why'

possibly about drugs. i love this song.

Pretty much all of the songs on this album are about loneliness, and this one is no exception. The first like, "cellophane flowers never happened for me", is a refrence (most likely) to the hippie drug culture. Obviously, the liberation the Secret Machines were looking for when they turned to drugs and sex never happened. This song is them finally realizing that. But of course that sounds pretentious, it's just a good rock song.

Great song. Wonderful lyrics, and huge drive. Very insightful, PittsColt. I never made that connection with the cellophane flowers, but now it seems so obvious...

before i always considered the "cellophane flowers" to be a false reality. Flowers are real, and ones made of cellophane are just a cheap imitation of reality. I thought he was saying that he has always lived a very real life. shrug The druggie hippie things works too though
