T.V. Eye Lyrics
Lord
See that cat
Yeah I do mean you
See that cat
Yeah I do mean you
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
See that cat
Down on her back
See that cat
Down on her back
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
See that cat
Yeah I love her so
see that cat
Yeah I love her so
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
Right on, right on, right on
See that cat
Yeah I love her so
see that cat
Yeah I love her so
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
See that cat
Yeah I do mean you
See that cat
Yeah I do mean you
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
See that cat
Down on her back
See that cat
Down on her back
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
See that cat
Yeah I love her so

stands for "Twat Vibe Eye". Iggy got it from Kathy Asheton, guitarist Ron Asheton's little sister.
i think CBS should use this as their theme song.
Taking the the actual acronym out of consideration, this almosts sounds like a lovesong to a cameragirl, possibly videotaping a concert.
And yes, this is easily the best song on Fun House.
@Uncommon It is a great 'traditional' song from the album, but, ignoring personal preference, the album is packed with them that it's almost criminal to choose between them all. Down On The Street, Loose, Dirt, 1970 all sound phenomenal to me Then RAW POWER completely leveled the field

rage against the machine totally ripped off this riff, and i cant blame them.
TV eye was a term used by Ron and Scott Asheton's little sister Kathy. it stands for 'twat vibe eye'. Her and her friends used it to say someone was staring at one of them. like, "oh, he's totally got a TV Eye on you!". Iggy Pop overheard them and thought it was funny.
It sounds like he's referring to a nude woman he's preparing to make love to. Cat obviously being an innuendo, and the TVI acronym which I never knew about till reading Birthcontrollblues comment on here
lots of screaming, This one was on Jack Black's "School of Rock"
This very well might be the best song on Funhouse
Anybody heard the alternate cuts of this on the remaster album?
There's way too many of them, but one of them is really funny. They have an Emcee (Iggy I think) introduce them, and he's getting boo'ed a lot, kind of like the stooges in general.
I really would have liked to have seen them in their prime (what would have really been cool is if you could transport a crowd from a Nirvana concert back in time, and seen it with them. Oh and the Velvet Underground with a Smashing Pumpkins crowd would have been cool too!)
@lukewagoneer I always thought Billy Corrigan from the pumpkins sounded like he has a perpetual constipated post nasal drip
