Down On the Street Lyrics
Uh!
Rargh!
Huh!
Down on the street where the faces shine,
Floatin' around I’m a Real O Mind.
See a pretty thing - ain't no wall.
See a pretty thing - ain't no wall.
No wall!
No wall!
No wall!
Huh!
Yeah, deep in the night I'm lost in love.
Yeah, deep in the night I'm lost in love.
A thousand lights - look at you.
A thousand lights - look at you.
At you!
At you!
At you!

Come on!

Huh!

The Stooges version is so much better than other versions mainly due to how unbelievably intense it is. This song is about being tripped out on LSD. The lyric isn't "real low mind" its "Real O Mind" which was a drugged out state of nirvanna. Iggy seea "faces shine" and feels like hes "floatin' around".
Only The Stooges can do this song.
the lyric is: 'Floatin around on a real O-Mind' - an O-Mind being what the band called the state of being complete/content while on drugs/stoned. I know this because it's in Iggy's 'Open Up And Bleed' bio.
This song is also extremely BRILLIANT
@exobscura I always heard it as "Real OLD mind . . . " Agree that it is brilliant and a favorite Stooges groove. Drums A+++++++

The Fuzztones covered it too, made it more psychedelic and kinda surfish...RATM cover sucks.
the undisputed best cover is by grind band Pig Destroyer. They execute it the rawest
Unbelievably complicated and creative lyrics ;-) Great rocker though. Anyone hear of any decent mdoern covers of this song?
RATM did cover it in Renegades
hahahahahaha zapparage, you almost had me there. RATM better than the Stooges - great joke! Zack de la Crotcha isn't fit to lick the peanut butter off Iggy's chest.
What about rioting? Like, see a pretty thing-ain't no walll can be equated to looting and the lack of morals, thousand lights can be riot police, face shine can be white people etc
wildabout you, you're a fucking moron. The Rage cover is the only good one and a lot better than The Stooges country/fag version.
RATM are cute. I love when they scowl their little scowls and strut around the stage offering junior-high perspectives on Kapitalism. Their guitars are also super-cute!
