And Gomorra Lyrics
I could feel from miles away
The time you spent and the games you played
In his eyes and his name upon your tongue
But I kept walking
Through the pain and the desert sand
Through the night as you took his hand
I found a way to remind you how it was
To remind you how it was
So long ago
So long ago
Let's walk away from the valley
There's no life in here anymore
Let's pack our hopes and our dreams away
And just walk through that door
Now we're marching miles until the sky will rest
Until we're free and we're safe unless
You turn around to see it all fall
No, we can't look back
She said, "I know, I know"
She said, "I know, I know"
She said, "I know, I know"
She said, "I know that we can't look back"
Now our burning city
Lighting up the night
Now our burning god
Takes away our sight
All those fallen angels
Came a little late
Our forgotten god
Never hesitates
Hesitates
Trust in me
Trust in me
I will give you life
Take my hand
Take my hand
I will clean your eyes
Trust in me
Trust in me
I will give you life
Close your eyes
Close your eyes
From Gomorra's skies
From Gomorra's skies
She said, "I know"
She said, "I know
She said, "I know that we can't look back"
No, we can't look...
She said, "I know"
No, we...
We can't look back
Now our burning city
Lighting up the night
Now our burning god
Takes away our sight
All those fallen angels
Came a little late
Our forgotten god
Never hesitates
Trust in me
Trust in me
I will give you life
Take my hand
Take my hand
I will clean your eyes
Trust in me
Trust in me

If you actually look at the song and its lyrics it has a deep meaning to it with the bible refrences... Amazing song and very well written even though it isn't one of their instant hits. It seems to grow on me everytime i listen to it.
It's about the total (all but 3 or 4 people) destruction of Sodom and Gomorra by God which takes place in.... Genesis or Exodus?
It's not a huge portion of Genesis, but basically God sends a messanger to the town and the villagers throw stones and want to rape and kill the messanger. One man (I think he's an innskeeper or something?) takes the messanger in and he offers his virgin daughters to the townspeople so they basically won't tear his house down and kill the messanger and everyone in the house. God obviously doesn't like the townspeoples behavior and shows his vengeful side by oblitering the town (save the innskepper, his wife and the two daughters). Well, God tells these 4 not to look back or they will feel his wrath as well, and the wife ignores this and looks back because she obviously still held attachment to her home, when she looks back she is turned to dust.
That's basically the biblical reference, and the song parallels that pretty well I think.
But yes, this is one of my favorite July for Kings songs, it's right up there with "One by One", "Anything but Beautiful" and "Bed of Ashes". If anyone has never heard a JFK song I recommend anything by them, but you can't really go wrong with the three I just listed above.
Yes any of those or Girlfriend
