This song to me is just about someone who knows that they can be found, but they don't want to be, at least not when it comes to love. At the same time there is a companion out there for them who so hopelessly wants them to know that no one could possibly feel the way that they do, and everyone else that surrounds them can see it so clearly, but that person simply refuses to accept it for themselves. Realism that is heartbreaking.
