Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. What you don't know can't hurt you. I've found out some things that I wish I didn't know. Great song. Toby has a great way of just sayings things that reach to the heart.

The first time I heard this song, I got teary because it`s about selfless, unconditional love. Okay, not only the first time. Almost everytime.

This guy doesnt care about his ego, he loved her so much: he doesnt care if hedlook like a fool in front of her friendshe just doesnt want to know. Thats how deeply he was in love with her. Even though she cheated, theres no anger or resentment, just sadness and a longing for things to be the way they were before.

Another good song from the kinder, gentler Toby Keith (whom I miss terribly. Who is this incendiary, jingoistic rebel rouser that's replaced him? Sigh). This one is very easy to relate to. I've enjoyed listening to it since I was a child, but only in the last few years did I understand what it really means. Unfortunately, we can't un-know what we already know, but there are times when I wish that I could.

The title "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then" is a lyric in the Bob Seger song "Against the Wind." I am unsure whether the title derives from that song. However, Keith did explicitly reference Seger in "I Won't Let You Down" from the album <i>Clancy's Tavern</i>.
