The Impact of Reason Lyrics

Prop open the door I can actually see my breath tonight
But that doesn't mean I'm breathing
Crack a smile just for the sake of it
This could take a while
A long while

Silence is golden especially in this case

I'm not too sure that I want it to be this way
Open mouth closed eyes
No words are escaping

It's all a blur
It's too dark to see
Ain't it pretty the way it all streaks together at night

I think it's time to turn around
I really want to go home tonight

I feel like this is going nowhere
Try to think of something quick
And trust the direction of the driver

No lights, no signs
I'm at a lost for words

Now conversation sparks
What an easy way to break the ice

i think this song is a dream one of the band members had, or maybe a life experience where they were in a car, lost, and uncomfortable with the people they were with.

[correct lyrics] "prop open the door i can actually, see, my, breath, tonight... but that doesn't mean i'm breathing crack a smile, just for the sake of it this could take awhile...a long while"

"i'm not to sure, that i want it to be this way opened mouth closed eyes, no words are escaping"

and later it is..."aint it pretty how it all streaks together at night...together at night"

..."try to think of something quick and trust the direction, of the DRIVER" "NO LIGHTS...NO SIGNS I'M AT A LOSS FOR WORDS .....NOW CONVERSATION SPARKS WHAT AN EASY WAY, TO BREAK THE ICE"

this song is about two strangers that are looking sex in the eye and they haven't even met before and both want to stop and just leave..."i think its time to turn around"...they both want "out". and at the end of the song "try to think of something quick...and trust the direction, of the driver" thats saying the christian of the two knows he must do something quick and trust God to get him out....

"now confersation sparks...what an easy way to break the ice"....he just simply talks to her to get him out of the situation and he gets to know her....and he gets out

people come on this band is amazing

The lyrics to this song haunt you just as much as the opening guitar riff into the drum intro does... "No conversation sparks, what an easy way to break the ice..." seems as if its just been a date gone wrong...

Not every song ever written by every great band needs to have a deeper meaning...

As I believe this may say... think about it. When was the last time you were in the presence of someone you REALLY liked, just to have NO IDEA WHAT TO SAY!?

Or even just an old friend you've not talked to in years... what then...

"I can see my breath, doesn't mean I'm breathing..."

Silence fools...

I agree with the-orange-i-choked about the meaning, seems pretty accurate. but for me, personally, its about being in a place you really dont want to be.......
