Nowhere Near Lyrics
Do you know how I feel
How I feel about you
Do you know this is real
How I feel around you
When I see you look at me
I'm not sure of anything
All I know is when you smile
I believe in everything
Do you know how I dream
How I dream about you
Do you know how I feel
Do you know...
Do you know how I feel
How I feel about you
Doesn't take much to tell
That I love, oh, I...
Everyone is here, but you're nowhere near
How I feel about you
Do you know this is real
How I feel around you
I'm not sure of anything
All I know is when you smile
I believe in everything
Do you know how I dream
How I dream about you
Do you know how I feel
Do you know...
How I feel about you
Doesn't take much to tell
That I love, oh, I...

I love this song so much.
it's pretty baffling that there are no comments on this song. Like "Our Way to Fall" it's an absolutely perfect love song.
Definitely a love song, but I think that it addresses the intensity of love. The pain of loving someone so much that they can't fathom it. The pain of not being able to express just how much you love someone, and that you can't be possibly closer than you are. The line "everyone is here, but you're nowhere near" seems like there is some sort of disconnect or something, like the other person will never be aware of able to comprehend the intense love that is felt.
love song, yes....BUT.....it's very meloncholy...
I imagine a person who's at a party/social gathering of some sort. That person's love interest is at the same party, but for some reason the love isn't paying much attention to him.
The plain look makes him uncertain...."does she even like me?"...but when she finally gives a smile, he feels it. In between looks, he's asking her in his head, "do you know how I feel about you? do you know how I dream about you??"
Overall, I think it's a song about feeling insecure in a relationship. He needs constant assurance, but she just can't give it....."everyone is here, but you're nowhere near"....great party. great people. doesn't matter if she seems like she doesn't care.....
That's the exact feeling I get. Especially how the speaker trails off near the end, "That I love, oh, I...."

Acutally, I think that she doesn´t know anything about his feelings for her. I think he never shows it, and that´s why he´s asking these questions. And about that last line, I think it means that everyone is there, including her but someone you love can seem to be really far away even though you´re standing and talking to the person since the feelings probably´s not answered. It´s like she´s there but then again not. Her feelings is not there.
Love this song anyway.
Couldn't agree more with your posts- this song is amazing. The sort of ethereal tone of the whole song blends perfectly with the vocals and conveys that terribly bittersweet feeling of a crush.
I think everyone else's interpretation is probably correct about it being about a crush but alternatively, it could be about someone who has recently died. The whole song could be about the love they feel for them after they have passed away and the last line "now you're nowhere near" means they died.
