Battle at Sea Lyrics
wage no war thou brutal sea
i laugh at you
you can't have me
you will calm and carry me
wage no war thou brutal sea
wage no war
brutal sea
laugh at you
can't have me
i laugh at you
you can't have me
you will calm and carry me
wage no war thou brutal sea
wage no war
brutal sea
laugh at you
can't have me

anyone catch the sound-clip in the beginning? it's a sentencing of a criminal (of war, i think) and it sounds like nuremberg (death by hanging is mentioned). anyone have any additional background on this?
for your said crimes of which you have been and now stand convicted you are sentenced by military tribunal 1 sentences you to hanging and may god have mercy on your soul
i was watching the jack bull and this is what the judge said to him just before he was hanged... but i heard nothing of military tribunal one hmmmmmmmm
I have a feeling it is, but they edited the "military tribunal" part out because it's irrelevant to the song...
This sounds like partial inspiration to "Leviathan".
About being lost at sea I guess
Maybe some sailors prevailing over some sort of rough sea weather with no casualties?
I dunno, but I love the intro, and how the song gradually gets heavier. BRUTAL!
This is from the Nuremburg Trials in the sentencing of Karl Brandt.
"Military Tribunal One sentences you, Karl Brandt, to death by hanging, and may God have mercy on your soul."
ok the way that i see it, a sailor or someone is at sea and hes gone somewhat crazy and he is just making a deal to make it out
its about the ocean being unable to defeat their tenacity; the mantra of the insane who dare fight a force of nature and live to laugh it off
