this seems like a guy who knew a girl who wasn't happy but he wanted to try and change her but ultimately, he couldn't and she commited suicide "No more shame, She has felt too much pain, in her life" & "she lives in the clouds and talks to the birds, hopeless little one".

lauri the singer of the rasmus is my god brother. (almost by marriage)

i went out with lauris godbrother for awhile and he told me that lauri had wrote this song about our relationship.

Basically me and the guy went out for awhile and I was pretty deppressed most of the time and he knew that. and i had a lot going on in my life "shes fading away away from this world hopless little one shes not like the other girls"

the whole "not like the other girls" part is because the guy suffered from a rare incurable disease that took his mothers life so girls didnt really date him because they couldnt stand the fact that he could die every month. but when i came along it didnt matter to me i loved him the same "not like the other girls i know"

"gotta rescue the flame in your heart" i'd always end up breaking up with him and he'd always try coming back trying to make things work trying to preserve our love.

at first i thought it was about somebody with autism, then i realised it was about somebody suffering from a mental illness which could lead to suicide... i hope he helped her in the end

it could be about someone with depression and stuff.... fading away - withdrawing from everyone, drifting like a feather- floating without a purpose from one place to the next, lives in the clouds - spends all her time in her head dreaming about what should be or what is wrong with her life, she talks to the birds - doesnt have anyother friends and so she talks to birds?? this song reminded me of me thats what it means to me.. i talk to inanimate objects and animals all the time.. usually better than talking to people.... doesnt nessessarily mean that she killed herself

I like this song. It's so sad for some reason...

It could be about a father singing about his daughter ("the world has forsaken my girl") and maybe someone she loves has done something to her and shes now suffering maybe? ("In mind she's repeating the words, All the love you put out will return to you ") The lines:

I should have seen it would be the way I should have known from the start what she's up to When you've loved and lost someone You know what it feels like to lose

Could mean that the father didnt approve of them dating but they did anyway and now its all fallen apart he has to look after his daughter and these lins:

could mean that because shes so broken hearted shes losing weight, losing friends. drifting into her own world basically her world has fallen apart and shes not like the other girls anymore

No I don't think its about a father...it must have been her boyfriend...and he's saying even though he knew she had problems that he loved her so much it didn't bother him and he just wanted to be with her...but then she committed suicide

Am I the only person who has friends who I turn to in a time of emotional need? I've suffered from an emotional illness and a loss that threw me into my own world. This is a song the people around me would listen to. One of my bestfriends, as a matter of fact. We were family. They, were biding their time. Waiting for me to come back to them. Understanding, loving and never wavering in their conviction, even though, I know now, my silence and distance caused them their own problems. They were willing to suffer for me.

I think this has nothing to do with suicide. I think it's a song of waiting and showing confidence that she will come back. Give her time. Give her love. She'll come back when you least expect it. Forever changed, but still who they all love.

The song is meant as a uplifting message, there is sadness but it is overcome. I believe is it about a girl with troubles in her life that will not take it anymore. Basically the moral is whatever troubles come your way, will make you stronger in the end.

He needs to help his girl through her suffering, but apparently he's loved someone who committed suicide before and he should have known. She can't understand why she gives so much love to the world but only pain is returned. He wants to save her, but he's powerless and now she's going to fade away...

It's so sad! I get all choked up every time I hear it.
