House Of Pain Lyrics
A little past suppertime
I'm still out on the porch step sitting on my behind,
Waiting for you.
Wondering if everything is alright.
Momma said, "Come in boy, don't waste your time." I said, "I've got time.
Well, he'll be here soon."
Five years old and talking to myself.
Where were you? Where'd you go?
Daddy, can't you tell?
I'm not trying to fake it
And I ain't the one to blame.
There's no one home
In my house of pain.
I didn't write these pages
And my script's been rearranged.
No, there's no one home
In my house of pain
Wasn't I worth the time?
A boy needs a daddy like a dance to mime and all the time
I looked up to you.
I paced my room a million times.
And all I ever got was on big line, the same old lie.
How could you?
Well, I was eighteen and still talking to myself.
Where were you? Where'd you go?
Daddy can't you tell?
I'm not trying to fake it
And I ain't the one to blame.
There's no one home
In my house of pain
I didn't write these pages
And my script's been rearranged.
No, there's no one home
In my house of pain
(REPEAT)
And I'm alone again.
(Spoken): Well, if I learned anything from this...it's how to live on my own.
I'm still out on the porch step sitting on my behind,
Waiting for you.

hey this song is so cool, pretty dam emotional too! speaking of the dad that he never had
Faster Pussycat is one of the most underrated 80's bands. This is a really great power ballad about growing up with no father. It's very emotional.
I really love this band; and this is such a sad song. It's really emotional.
I really connect with this song because I grew up without a father...
This is a tough one to listen to. Without a dad since the time I was 9 years old. Always felt this was written for me
I didn't write these pages And my script's been rearranged
Couldn't say it better myself
i honestly cannot get through this one without crying. <3

Its yet another beautiful power ballad. I think its about a boy who feels abandoned because his parents are never home.

It was written about a boy's father that walked out and never came back after his parents divorced when he was 5 years old.

Yeah its very emotional. This is a heavy metal ballad and I can go through it without crying, but I've come dangerously close to shedding tears anyway. And believe me, there are very few things in this word that bring out my soft side like that.
