Ossining Lyrics

Put my faith in the price of mud
And my lord shall match the pounds,
Ten thousand days and a night spelunking
Kill my years in the lightning round,
Confound it

Why not
Seek Ossining
These threes and foursomes
Abounded,
Why not
Seek Ossining
This time around?

No, not a maze, but like blazed-out inner star
Disclosed completely in a plain film canister

Its a town of ny??? And I like how some of his songs are Faith-based. (or i like to think that??)

Ossining is a town in New York, home of Sing-Sing prison.

What the town has to do with the song is anyone's guess, other than a blatant name drop.

Well, Mike had a heroin problem, which is known as "mud." To me, it seems like the song is about being addicted to heroin for a long time: "Ten thousand days and a night spelunking." He quits because he doesn't want to "Kill my years in the lightning round."

If Ossining is the home of Sing-sing, maybe he doesn't want to go to jail because of heroin? Maybe he'd rather go to jail then die of an overdose.

And the very last line could refer to drugs in a plain film canister.
