Slowkill Lyrics
Love cried on the bridge of starving
So cold, first night
Up here on the bridge of night forsaken me, but listen!
Slow... bleed for what?
Up here on the bridge tonight
To fall would be so nice
Chase this misery out of the town
Bury my face into this ground
Now jump... now jump... jump !
Into this smile, mesmerised
See what you are - she wants you
Up here I can see for miles, judging flies by their size
I'm up here because I wanted to die
All I hear, like a dying messiah
I'm up here because I wanted to die
All I hear... I lie here
Don't cry
Don't cry
Now jump
Bury my face into this ground
jump...
So cold, first night
Up here on the bridge of night forsaken me, but listen!
To fall would be so nice
Bury my face into this ground
Now jump... now jump... jump !
See what you are - she wants you
Up here I can see for miles, judging flies by their size
I'm up here because I wanted to die
All I hear, like a dying messiah
I'm up here because I wanted to die
All I hear... I lie here
Don't cry
Bury my face into this ground
jump...

i think it's about suicide myself... 8-)
oh and "judging flies by their size" always used to sound like "such a fire as burns inside" to me... but now it sounds like the line here. maybe "judging lives by their size". dunno...
Absolutely mind-ravaging song, a classic story of a suicide, done in the true cowboy fashion that is the Fields of the Nephilim.
I believe it is, indeed, "such a fire as burns inside". That makes more sense. "Up here I can see for miles" and "I'm up here because I wanted to die" are such good lines. Heart-pouding chorus..."Now jump"!
i think its the flies by their size thing it makes sense if u think that when u are standing up high people look like bugs so he is judging people
I'm sure there are a few errors here.
Are the lyrics related to Harmonica Man, which comes from Once Upon a Time in the West? That'd link to the title, Slow Kill.
...more likely from the point of view of someone thinking about suicide from a high point...
