Papillon Lyrics

Flying to the day
One day to play
With eyes open wide
I am Papillon

I watch the world
Curiously
World is my home
I am Papillon

I have no God
Life is in me
I am in life
I am Papillon

Brightest of days
Holds me in embrace
I am free
I am Papillon

In my dreams
In my life
In my soul
In my eyes
In my head
I am real
I am Papillon

Cover art for Papillon lyrics by Stratovarius

Papillon translates as butterfly in french.

Theres' also a book called "Papillon" by Henri Charrière I believe it was turned into a movie as well

Havne't read the book or see the movie so not sure if the song is to do with the book or if it's just about un Papillon

P.s. French Version is better :}

The book 'Papillon' is about a guy who escaped from prison many times, based on various stories from prison by a guy who actually escaped from a prison (where he was sitting for murder). I don't think it's about escaping from prison.

However, I don't know what is this song about, the only thing that I noticed is that the verse 'One day to play' might refer to the fact that butterflies (=Papillons) usually live only for one day. Maybe the rest is just describing is that one beautiful day where the butterfly can fly freely.
