Definatly a song written from experiance, and i've had many occasions of this happening; You're very happy that a relationship, and then it suddenly crashes and burns... And you feel as if you should just give up on everything.
I agree with Delvis. You feel as if you should give up on everything, but you have to remember that there is more to life and there are more chances. You can't let it bog you down forever.
I don't think it has to be about a relationship really, everyone jumps to that conclusion. To me, it's about being sick of your life. I definatly feel like this song, I just hope that day that I wake up and realize that I have had enough comes soon.
