Peter Pan Lyrics
Hey, Peter Pan
I'm going home now
I've done all I can
Besides I'm grown now
I'll think of you all painted with the night
You sit and watch from somewhere
As one by one the lights go out
I wrote a note to tell you how you matter
When the rain came down
All the letters scattered
And washed away
Drifted off to Never
Where you'll be safe from me now forever
I believe you now when
You say that this will hurt
So I don't have to go and
Play with you in the dirt now
Hey Peter Pan
I'm going home now
I'm all grown up
You're on your own now
I'll think of you all painted with the night
You sit and watch from somewhere
As one by one the lights go out
I'm going home now
I've done all I can
Besides I'm grown now
I'll think of you all painted with the night
You sit and watch from somewhere
As one by one the lights go out
When the rain came down
All the letters scattered
And washed away
Drifted off to Never
Where you'll be safe from me now forever
You say that this will hurt
So I don't have to go and
Play with you in the dirt now
I'm going home now
I'm all grown up
You're on your own now
I'll think of you all painted with the night
You sit and watch from somewhere
As one by one the lights go out

I feel like this song isn't her as Wendy, but a love letter tto her childhood memories.
Does nobody else find this song just the most heartbreaking thing you've ever heard? lol
I love the piano, and her voice is so soft on it. But I've had different thoughts about what it could be. Sometimes I think it's about her leaving somebody behind, or perhaps a child dying, or a lover dying. In my opinion, she's wendy in this song because Wendy was always the one who 'had' to leave neverland and grow up.
''I'm all grown up, you're on your own now''.
Thats very sad.
@that_sullen_girl It is heartbreaking - Wendy is going home because she's grown. I take it as her ending a relationship with someone because they won't grow up, which is charming at first, but becomes more and more exhausting as time passes.

It was kind of heart breaking to listen to this song because i just saw in my mind Wendy leaving Peter to go back to her grown up life. How she wrote him a letter about how much he means...that it’s better for him, even though he watches her at night. She will always remember him and still love him for the time they had.
I'll think of you all painted with the night
The best song ever….so much meaning
I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this song. This has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. She knows she has to leave and it's a heartbreaking feeling, but it has to be done. Almost as if for his own protection ("where you'll be safe from me now forever")
