Hello, My Name Is Your T.V. Lyrics
Hello, my name is your T.V.
We’ve been together so long
So many memories
We solved so many problems
Situated comedies
I fed you ads and movie stars
And you always fell asleep
In my color bars, but there’s this
CHORUS
World outside where the lighting’s off
Scenes last too long and you lose the plot
All the girls, they lie and they break your heart
And nothing’s done when the streets go dark
Here, seeCalifornia, where pretty people dream
And the good guy gets the girl by the sunny sea
And when they’d yell upstairs, you’d cry
Little boy inside their lies
In the dark I’d watch your eyes
And I know the way they laugh
The jackals feast behind your back
Here you hide, but still they stab
In the dark I feel you die in that
REPEAT CHORUS
Now see that icy vacant lot where they made your nose bleed
The flannel spread, the heater on
The world is dead, the sun is gone, here take my hand, I’ll take you home
You’ll never have to be alone
The picture’s warping slowly, the scrolling seems unending
The snowy edges blurring, the bars between us bending
Feel you start to breathe, you are alive inside of me
Forever tan and strong and loved, you’ll never bleed again
In dreamyCalifornia scenes where bad guys meet their destiny
And the good guy gets the girl by the sunny sea
We’ve been together so long
So many memories

excellent song, any band that can use lyrics like these and make it into a kick ass song has to be pretty good. If you cant find the meaning of this song by yourself then you dont deserve to know
i love ludo. they make me so incredibly happy. I'm so going to their concert even if i have to walk. This is an amazing song
Ah my favorite song of theirs. It's beautiful and weird all at once. Obviously it's about a kid who doesn't fit in anywhere. So he turns to the world of Tv to comfort him.
I cry almost everytime I hear this song, it's so sad and sweet.
so in the end he literally enters the tv? i didn't catch that the first few times i heard it...
An amazing song, once again. Its about a boy who lives a life of abuse outside his house and at home. His parents always fight "And when they’d yell upstairs, you’d cry" He escapes by watching the TV, which gives him love and hope. The tv is actually speaking to the boy in the song, welcoming him into the perfect world where he'd be "Forever tan and strong and loved and never bleed again" really amazing.
This song makes me cry. I don't know what it is. I'm a guy, and this is the only song off the top of my head that makes me cry. It's just such an awesome song.
The song is relateable. There are loads of people who use tv to escape thier real world problems, Ludo just takes it one step further.
I think when he dies and goes into the tv it's like his gateway to heaven. Because after listening to this song so much it made me think of "The Little Match Girl," she had a terrible abusive life and forgot about with illusions. And when she dies, her gateway is in her loving Grandmother arms. This song makes me cry :)
Actually, I don't really think the parts about dying and going into the TV are meant to be taken literally. Basically, the boy feels completely alone in the world and he doesn't fit in, so he uses TV as a way to escape reality. He's taken in by the perfect world that it shows him-- "Forever tan and strong and loved, you'll never bleed again."
The boy wants more than anything to be a part of that perfect world; to be loved and respected like the celebrities he watches. The last verse is describing that feeling-- the TV is "taking his hand" and showing him how wonderful his life could be if he lived on the other side of the screen (meaning, if he were famous). He turns to the TV for reassurance and comfort when he's suffering, because it offers him hope.
