Two at a Time Lyrics
once upon a time
for the lord
the skies they parted
so a few must die
to bring us back
to where we started
two at a time (x4)
do what you're told
Each and every kind
bird gathered up
this tiny boat
the future of the world
for those that drowned
it made no sense
they should have known
because he told them so
two at a time (x4)
do what youre told
i can see the rains a comin
to wash away the filth and vermin
hand and hand we'll watch them runnin
oooohhhhhhh
in the summertime
long ago the skies they parted
so a few had died
to bring us back to where we started
two at a time (x4)
for the lord
the skies they parted
to bring us back
to where we started
do what you're told
bird gathered up
this tiny boat
the future of the world
it made no sense
they should have known
because he told them so
do what youre told
to wash away the filth and vermin
hand and hand we'll watch them runnin
oooohhhhhhh
long ago the skies they parted
so a few had died
to bring us back to where we started

This song is about when Noah brought all the animals in the ark... it was two at a time
i love this song. .and i love at the end when you hear everyone laughing and the kids say "puppies!" its so cute and sounds so joyful!
i also love this song, but actually, i think the kids say "cookies!" because i think the guys promised them cookies after singing
I think it's puppies
No its cookies
I love how the whole story of Noah's Ark is so artfully put in Two at a Time.
Why do musicians always do these "hidden tracks"? Is there a difference to the record company if a track is credited and given its own track stop or not?
this song has a great, great sound. very well produced. i can't wait for their new album in Sept.
I love how Guster doesn't always write about sappy feelings, and how they're heart broken about some broad...I mean, it takes a pretty talented band to turn the story of Noah's ark into a pretty damn good song!! lovin the gust...peace
I really got a different feel from this song, I kind of got the feeling that it was sarcastic, with the "do what you're told" and the children singing about "so a few have died". And the "hand in hand we watch them runnin" Whole thing really creeped me out the first couple of listens. Just my opinion though.
