Wake Me When It's Over Lyrics
When the weight is on your shoulders
Come on your knees
When the weight is on your shoulders
Come on your knees
Wake me when it's over
Wake me please
Wake me when it's over
All the things you knew for sure
Were not what they seemed
All the things you knew for sure
Were not what they seemed
Wake me when it's over
Wake me please
Wake me when it's over
When all the noise is gone
Anything you want
I will give away just to watch you go
Come on your knees
When the weight is on your shoulders
Come on your knees
Wake me please
Wake me when it's over
Were not what they seemed
All the things you knew for sure
Were not what they seemed
Wake me please
Wake me when it's over
Anything you want
I will give away just to watch you go

It's so beautiful... And sad... The end of the song just screams to me "I would rather give everything away than be with you". It's like maybe he's in a relationship that needs to end but neither person can end it. I don't know (little stoned) .And then music it's self... It just draws you into it, it's just chaotic enough ... it sounds like a struggle. I don't know... just awsome.
This is the first song I heard from them and have been in love since. Bands like Longwave, Grizzly Bear, and The Bravery show that not only rappers come from Brooklyn. Anyways, it's a pretty sad song when you think about it. He's basically saying that he's lost interest with his lady and just wants her to leave cause he doesn't want to himself. "All the things you knew for sure were not what they seemed" means his lady thought everything was alright with them, when they really weren't. "When all the noise is gone, anything you want, I will give away, just to watch you go" says it all. He's saying he'll give her whatever she wants just as long as she leaves him the fuck alone. Basically what Bobdatech said.
Haunting
Oh man... this song is so powerful, it makes me feel way down deep inside. The music is haunting and the words are powerful. It's totally a song of saying "let me help you" kinda thing. way great.
Gives me goosebumps. Every. Single. Time. The guitar beginning at 0:38 is astonishingly haunting.
The meaning, I guess, is someone reaching out to help someone and they can't get to them.
