Free Lyrics
Let's go!
Everybody needs to start their own fire
Everybody needs a riot of their own
Everybody needs to be something that they are not
Everybody needs to go it alone
Because!
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't see what you need to see
Okay!
All the time spent hanging on to anything
All the time spent knowing that they're wrong
All the time wasted, stolen back, innocent
You won't get a second more so move it along
Because!
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't see what you need to see
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't see what you need to see
Wishing and hoping and thinking it's you
That's got this all under control
Never a minute has passed you all by
When they haven’t invaded your soul
It’s not something you can hold
It’s not something you own
It's not something you can buy or steal
You've got it when you're alone
Being free is a tragedy
When you don't know yourself
Being free is a tragedy
When you don't know who you are
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't see what you need to see
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't see what you need to see
Let's go!
Hey, hey, hey!
Alright then
This is the story of your life man
(And in other places around the world,
It's growing clear that the americans are trigger happy)
Everybody needs to start their own fire
Everybody needs a riot of their own
Everybody needs to be something that they are not
Everybody needs to go it alone
Living so free is a tragedy
When you can't be what you want to be

I agree. There is no where in this world where you can be what you want to be. I wish people could just mind there own business.
I can't be who I want to be at all. Parents restrict you, the government restricts you, peers pressure you, it's ridiculous. People shove there beleives down your throat and it's impossible to grasp something for yourself because you have everyone influencing you. And the government is brainwashing us all, it's depressing.
I could be wrong, but when I look at the lyrics, or listen to this song, I see it being more about restricting or limiting yourself. Rather than the world or society controlling you. Is it difficult to be yourself when society wants you to conform? Yes. And is it hard when your parents have an image or an ideal that they want you to live up to? Sure. And likewise with everyone else and there Mom who will have high and probably ridiculous expectations. But it is in choice that this song, I think, is based. And how free are you, if you constantly choose to be what they all want you to be? Of course, there is also that many people enjoy taking the easy road, settling on scraping by with the bare minimum, rather than becoming something more. And again, how free can you be when you stop challenging yourself, or pushing for more. That is just my take anyhow, and not too far from a few other responses that I saw.
yeah no ones commented pretty god damn suprising.....anyhow.... i think it's about going out and doing things on your own, being your own person having all the fun you want but soon it grow old and in the end your left not knowing what to do...
I think it's about personal freedom and rights. How are we free if we are so controlled that we can't shape our own lives? In one aspect, I see it as a political statment, although I'm unsure of what is being said exactly. Is he discussing propaganda when he says "Living so free is a tragedy, when you can't see what you need to see"? And the last few lines about Americans being trigger happy, is that a slam on the war? I really don't know PM5K's political standing, but it's a great song nonetheless.
^^^nice
saw it live... fucking amazing.
saw it live... fucking amazing.
i think it means that in today's world, it's so hard to be yourself because today's society is to uniformed.
WHOAAA!!! this song rocks.. I thought it sucked at first .. but what the hell...it motherfing rocks!!!!.. I agreee with Flaming munk, society is so uniformed that ppl cant have that chance to be free, to chase their purpose and live their own lives. you sacfiice your life to live like other people, If you become what you want to be, you are threateend. More like clones spawned on one purpose. born-play-get a job-marry-and the best part DIE... thats what people think being free is all about ..and thats the tragedy about it. Because if you try to change the norm, you are not as free as you think ..
