Anything At All Lyrics
I can tell by the tone of your voice,
that this isn't working out
I can tell by the look in your eyes,
you've made up your mind you haven't got a doubt
I remember when I first saw you, I
remember the way I felt
and now you're breaking me to pieces, and
I don't know how I'll deal with this
But if I...
learned anything at all
it was to always be true to yourself and
I know that this isn't the end of it all,
and I, I will fall...
Have you ever watched the shadows,
fly across the midnight sky?
You know I used to watch the sunset,
but it seems that I haven't got the time anymore
But if I....
learned anything at all it was to
always be true to yourself, and I
know that this is what I can do and
I'm gonna try...
Been thinking for days,
been sleepless for nights
But it all came to me,
driving home crying my eyes out
And if I...
learned anything at all it was to
never give up
'Cause I see all my dreams laid out in front of me,
and for once it doesn't seem so tough
no, it doesn't seem so tough....
that this isn't working out
I can tell by the look in your eyes,
you've made up your mind you haven't got a doubt
I remember when I first saw you, I
remember the way I felt
and now you're breaking me to pieces, and
I don't know how I'll deal with this

I know that this isn't the end of it all,

I think Tristan makes it clear that she even though she's really heart strucken by this guy who just kind of gives up on their relationship, she knows that she can't give up her dreams that she has for herself...despite the pain. Relationships come and go, so its always good to be able to do things for yourself and live for yourself...
I listened to this song on repeat after driving hundreds of miles just to end things with my boyfriend at the time face-to-face. He never seemed to care for me as much as I did him.
"I remember when I first saw you. I remember the way how I felt... And now you're breaking me to pieces. I don't know how I'll deal with this..." is what I went through before
"But it all came to me... Driving home crying my eyes out. But if I learned anything at all, it was to never give up."
And though I did cry, I realized that the world wasn't over. I was only 19 at the time, and had so much to look forward to.
"Cause I see all my dreams laid out in front of me and for once... It doesn't seem so tough."
Good therapy song, definitely!

A therapy song for sure... so emotional. I love how it builds on the ending relationship and how much it hurts.... but in the end it says: "if I learned anything at all, it was to never give up... and now I see all my dreams laid out in front of me... and for once it doesn't seem so tough." It just leaves in the hope that everything will be alright and that I am stronger now.
This song really gets to me. It’s clear that the song is about a bad breakup, but what I really like about it is that it follows the whole process after it. The different things one feels and how eventually one starts to realize that it’s not the end of the world.
My favorite part is “It all came to me, driving home crying my eyes out”… for all of us that have done this, I think it gets to you. Crying at random times and then realizing that it’s not so tough anymore and not worth your time.
I was reading “New Moon” and getting to the part where Edward breaks up with Bella and this song came on. It fit perfectly to what was happening (well the beginning at least) and it became part of my personal soundtrack for the book.
