Livin' Small Lyrics
Some Kids wanna be rockstars, and some kids wanna be firemen
If you're in it for the bright lights and the battle scars
It'll turn you into a liar, man
I'm not sure if I've rocked them all
All i know is I've met a lot of people
Filled a lot of spaces
Learned to jump and learned to take a fall
And if that's not livin' large, then I'm happy livin' small
and our friends
Yea, we know it's not just supposed to be about what looks good
We know it's not really all about the benjamins
Yea, but business is a lot like love and business is a lot like friendship, isn't it?
Yea, well either way, if you just go out looking for what's rich and hot
You'll end up with a piece of shit
Yea who knows, maybe if I return those calls...All I know is when i tune in, turn on and go out It's not my radio, It's not my tv show, It's not my rock-n-roll
Looks like one big fashion show
All these punk rock pimps and hoes
Sellin' this and sellin' those
Sodas, cars, and phones
I mean, what's the dilly yo?
This channel isn't clear at all
And if that's what passes these days for livin' large
Then I'm happy livin' small

" I don't know if I've seen a million faces I'm not sure if I've rocked them all All i know is I've met a lot of people Filled a lot of spaces Learned to jump and learned to take a fall And if that's not livin' large, then I'm happy livin' small"
Genius. A song that is completely at peace with itself. Often the ones who shout the loudest are the ones who are secretly unhappy in themselves. This song illustrates the point perfectly.
Jonah's songs really don't need any explaination, not least of all because they often mean different and very personal things to everyone who listens to it, but Jonah has really tapped into something that is so often overlooked as a talent nowadays and that is pure simple honesty.
So often simplicity is the thing that describes the complexities of the human heart the best.

This is my favorite song by Jonah - it's a perfect expression of what I believe in. How much more honest can you get? It's basically saying that you've gotta be true to yourself - that in the end fame, money, status, popularity will get you nothing - don't just do something for anything other than pure love, or you'll regret it, sooner or later.

this is what i think the world should strive for. i think it's the happiness that we all could use

I know I may be stating the obvious, but it sounds like jonah is refierring to Clear Channel in this line "This channel isn't clear at all" Anyway, this is a really great song "And if that's what passes these days for livin' large Then I'm happy livin' small" So simple, and so honest - this is how everyone should live, content with themselves.

song is pretty awesome. gives me shivers and makes feel like crap for wanting everything i see. Really personal song for Jonah i assume. pretty much stating we should be content and humble. kinda like Jonah. Matranga is the real Carraba.
