How Shall I See You Through My Tears Lyrics
Father, sister
Father, sister, dearest voices
I have found you and I don't know how
Father, sister, I hear your voices
But am I dreaming or are you here right now?
Can you tell me...
[chorus]
How shall I see you through my tears (Please tell me)
How shall I see you through my tears (I need to know)
How shall I see you through my tears (Yeah)
Father, sister, the gods have spoken
I bring a promise, a holy vow
A world that casts you out won't kiss you
And those who blame you sing your praises now
So can you tell me...
[chorus]
Destiny brings you back to me
Child I'm so glad I'm here
There's hope for me
There's a prophecy
Destiny brings you back to me
A world that casts you out
Will forgive you now
Destiny brings you back to me
I've been waiting for a sign
To ease my troubled mind
Ooooh...
[chorus]
How shall I see you through my tears(When I'm crying tears of sadness)
How shall I see you through my tears (Won't you turn them to tears of gladness)
How shall I see you through my tears, (Gladness, oh)
Tears, tears, tears
I have found you and I don't know how
Father, sister, I hear your voices
But am I dreaming or are you here right now?
Can you tell me...
How shall I see you through my tears (Please tell me)
How shall I see you through my tears (I need to know)
How shall I see you through my tears (Yeah)
I bring a promise, a holy vow
A world that casts you out won't kiss you
And those who blame you sing your praises now
So can you tell me...
There's hope for me
There's a prophecy
A world that casts you out
Will forgive you now
Destiny brings you back to me
To ease my troubled mind
How shall I see you through my tears (Won't you turn them to tears of gladness)
How shall I see you through my tears, (Gladness, oh)

Sasha's voice is so amazing. What talent! I love this song, like to sing it even though I never sound as good as she does
Yeah her voice is extraordinary
Nice song. But I wonder... It sounds like this girl's father and sister were exiled and she's calling out for them. Or they've been gone such a long time and she can't help but weep (destiny brought them together) and she's recieved a word from the...gods. Maybe she's crying 'cuz they went through all that and now they're old. But forgiven... Somebody help me out!
This song is originally from the Black Harlem Theater's "Gospel at Colonus". It's basically a theatrical blending Greek tragedy and Gospel soul. Check out the original interpretation on youtube.
