Forever And A Day Lyrics

Here is the rest of the song, for those who are curious... if anyone could help me out on that ? I left in there, please post here.
There is a place Where the sidewalk ends and before the street begins and there, the grass grows soft and white And the sun burns so bright And there, the ? bird rests from it's flight To cool on peppermint winds Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black And the dark street winds and bends Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow We shall walk with walk that is measured, and slow And watch where the chalkline arrows go To the place where the sidewalk ends Yes we will walk with a walk That is measured and slow And we'll go where the chalkline arrows go The children they mark And the children they know The place where the sidewalk ends
This site isn't a cut and paste op.. Please be thorough if you're going to post a song.

The ? is moon-bird... and another correction... chalkline = chalk-white.
...Shoulda known it was a Shel Silverstein Poem...

i like the lyrics to this song but it just sounds so emotionless

this song recites Shel Silverstein's Where The Sidewalk Ends verbatim.

"I hope every time he breaks your heart you think of me and how I was to you."
God, I love that line. Anyways, pretty clear what this song is about. I really like how they recite the poem in the end. To be honest I'm a little perplexed at how few comments this song has.

i agree with desiderata03 that one line means so much to me because it tells my exact thorts...and with the line at the end "I thort we'd be together forvever" is what most relationships are like. Great Song!!
