Somehow I feel like the Mr. stands for being American. How some people ruin the environment and our planet carelessly, giving Americans a bad name, when there are people like Ben Harper, a Mr. too, who do give a damn about those kind of things, but are stuck with that reputation.

im surprised no one commented on this song. its one of ben's most chillin' songs. its obviously about rich, obnoxious people who only care about themselves and are selfishly ignorant to what goes on around them

Saw Ben last night, hes just an incredible muscician and humaitarian. I'd never heard this song before last night, but it left a great impact on me and my folks, I very much agree with Hauge... its a reminder for us to clean up our act, look after not only or world environment, but one another! Great tune too.
Does blaming the president not doing anything to help our country make him a hypocrite? Or does it make you (nobody in particluar) a hypocrite for complaining about his lack of effort and leadership while you do nothing to change things?
This song is outstanding. I love all of Ben Harper's songs, but when I heard this one it had a large impact on me. It has a unique sound to it; much different from the other songs. I deffinetely agree that this song is about the people, specifically the power hungry men who run the world. I think it also has a bit of feminism to it because as he says, "your givin mr. a bad name". I think this song is beautiful and I think it's even more beautiful that Ben can sing about such an honest and compelling subject.
This should be sing with all the politicians and greedy people here in our country,Philippines. It is a rich land having different natural resources but all the people in the government only want the money they can get...they don't care about the people and land.
Ben Harper is really good!
