From Blown Speakers Lyrics
When the contact high
From the real life adventures wear off
You find in the tiny moments that bomb
Your old files rain down from the skies
And would they fall down
Like cymbal crashes, would the alarm bell sound?
Would your eyelashes keep all this in time?
If not, I won't mind
It can be impractical
It can be impractical
So can you tell me
Why in every version of the events shown here
There's another season that crawls by like years
From blown speakers clear?
It came out magical
It came out magical
Just a contact high
One in every mood I've ever declined to fight
One in every single exchange you might find
From blown speakers time came out magical
It came out magical
Magical, out from blown speakers
It came out magical, out from blown speakers
From the real life adventures wear off
You find in the tiny moments that bomb
Your old files rain down from the skies
Like cymbal crashes, would the alarm bell sound?
Would your eyelashes keep all this in time?
If not, I won't mind
It can be impractical
Why in every version of the events shown here
There's another season that crawls by like years
From blown speakers clear?
It came out magical
One in every mood I've ever declined to fight
One in every single exchange you might find
From blown speakers time came out magical
It came out magical, out from blown speakers

Positive is right, it's definitely about coming down off a high. I get the feeling that the metaphor blown speakers is about having a good idea despite having a lack of confidence, or fear of failure. The cymbal crashing and alarm clock are talking about panic. Like when you've made a bold decision you know you had to make but now you have to face the consequences. Great song though; I wow the NPs write great lyrics and infuse them with their catchy pop tunes
Definitely a great song! My read on it is that it's about those moments when you do come down from some big moment in life, and all of a sudden these old ideas and ambitions that you've tucked away (your "old files") come flooding back. Maybe it's a good idea to pursue them, maybe not. Ultimately, though, I think that the idea of something magical coming from blown speakers suggests that sometimes the best things come out of the worst, most confusing situations--kind of like the lotus in the mud metaphor. Even from a bad mood or an "exchange," which I take to mean an argument, you can get something great. So I guess maybe it's saying that you should go ahead and take whatever risk you're afraid of. But don't worry if you don't--Carl won't mind.
This song rocksssssss.
It came out MAGICAL
I don't know but when I blast my speakers this song comes out magical indeed.
I think its kind of about having a temporary 'high' when something good happens and then coming back to reality of all the stresses of life.. or maybe it could be about waking up from a good dream. I kind of get that from the alarm clock part. Hmm i dunno great song though.
I love this song. It gives me such a RUSH.
I love when Neko sings out those words.
