This song was originally by "Romeo Void," a late 80's, early 90's New Wave band, and the orignial video for this song got a lot of play on MTV.
It's been redone twice, once by "Queens," and the second time by a techno band called "Vandalism." After hearing all three, this one's actually my favorite.
Love QOTSA but hate this cover. It sucks. Bassline is fucking brilliant but you wouldn't know it listening to this version. Listen to Romeo Void's original & you'll know what I mean.
Not sure, but I think the line "I might like you better if we slept together" was inspired by some line by the Smashing Pumpkins' X.Y.U. (the alternative version which is featured on "The Friends And Enemies Of Modern Music").

I've never heard the original, and I don't even know who it's by, but I have heard this version, and all I know is that it is shit. Utter crap.
