Bionic Hands

I lost both hands in the accident
I said I don?t know if I want to keep on living
but you said you?d stay here if I did
so the doctors gave me new hands that worked strong, they sure can grip
but there is no real sensation in synthetic fingertips

now I only want to touch you one more time
feel your fingers laced in mine
but I have no feeling left in my bionic hands

I looked unsure at my new hands
I said I don?t know if I?ll ever learn to use these
but you said you?d hold them if I did
so the doctors gave me rehab new methods, a new technique
but there is no help or training for the weakness in my knees

now I only want to touch you one more time
feel your fingers laced in mine
but I have no feeling left in my bionic hands

I wore black gloves all year round
until you said you?d like to help
and you gave me colored mittens that you knitted by yourself

I would swim across a shark infested sea
to feel the my hands upon your knee
but I have no feeling left in these
