this is probably my favorite song by my american heart. it's incredible. he's got such a beautiful voice. it's pretty self-explanatory to me.
i think that larry wrote this song about texas, and everything that's happened to him involving people close to him. from relationships to friendships, to family members.
he wants to hate texas for everything it's put him through, but he knows deep down he can't because it's his home, where he came from.

Actually, this song is about a guy who they went to high school with. The song was originally called 'Maps Around Texas Territory'...MATT. Apparently, one of the guys had drama with him. I don't know too much about the whole situation but I know for sure it's not about what academy just listed.
