Head Games Lyrics

Day light, alright, I don't know, I don't know if it's real
Been a long night, and something ain't right
You won't show, you won't show how you feel
No time ever seems right,
To talk about the reasons why you and I fight
It's high time to draw the line
Put an end to this game, before it's too late

Head games, it's you and me, baby
Head games, and I can't take it anymore
Head games, I don't want to play the head games

I daydream, for hours it seems, I keep thinking of you, yeah thinking of you
These daydreams, what do they mean
They keep haunting me, are they warning me
Daylight turns into night
We try and find the answer, but it's nowhere in sight
It's always the same, and you know who's to blame
You know what I'm saying, still we keep on playing

Head games, that's all I get from you
Head games, and I can't take it anymore
Head games, don't want to play the head games

So near, so far away
We pass each other by 'cause we don't know what to say
It's so clear, I'm sorry to say
But if you want to win, you gotta learn how to play

Head games, always you and me, baby
Head games, till I can't take it anymore
Head games, instead of making love
Head games, oh

Head games, always you and me, baby
Head games, till I can't take it anymore, no more
Head games, instead of making love, we play
Head games

Head games, in the first degree
Head games, yeah, always you and me
Head games, why do you do it, baby
Head games, you put me trough it baby

Duh! women have to play head games or guys will get totally bored... I love this song. It will never be to late if its love.

"guys will get totally bored"....well, us guys are pretty simple. Feed us and **** us and we're pretty satisfied. Can I get an amen from the congregation?

With all due respect , you are all wrong. I can relate to this song. He is admitting that he is guilty too of playing the head games and he finally comes out with his feelings. I have had situations where , I had certain history with a woman and in a nightclub or party or wherever, we both just ignore each other , like neither one exists. This is what Lou Gramm is reffering. It is the whole process that goes with these "head games', including the awkwardness of an unexpected meeting. He is being the big man by having the guts to tell this lady how he truly feels.

The girl probably has borderline personality disorder. If any guy has been involved with one, he'll identify with this song. That's why he can't find the answer why they fight, a borderline will never admit she has a problem. And there's never a right time to talk about it because she doesn't want to face her problem. But he can't stop thinking about her because he is addicted to her, he's a co-dependent. So his only solution is to play her game, and learn how to play the head games too.

This song is not simply about sex, there's a deeper meaning. Cobra kai series made me listen to this song more carefully since first hearing it in the 80s. Definitely about a girl with BPD and the guy is to weak to break up with her because he's a co-dependent

Head games—also played by men—are part of the allure sexuality promises and delivers. Without them, we'd be bored—our brains would stagnate.

An interesting perspective—wars are started by head games and perpetuated with weapons ... No offense to every man—because they are all so wonderfully diverse and different—but most of war’s head games have been played by men. With the notion that both of you males have unfortunately been silly putty in the hands of wily females, I wish you better luck in matters of the heart.

I think people have totally missed the actual second hidden meaning of this song. He intentionally named it HEAD games. Normally, people use the term "mind games" to describe the manipulative psychological interplay between a couple. I think one perfectly acceptable interpretation of this song is that the girl will not give him sex, only "head games". He's getting fed up with the situation and wants her to give herself sexually to him. Why is he having daydreams about her? Because he wants to make love and all she can give him is head games because she wants to either be in love or married before she'll go all the way. Given the mindset of women around 1980, this fits perfectly. But yet, you can also take the other literal meaning that it's about mind games between a couple.

You're reading something into it that is not there. I've heard both the terms "head games" and "mind games" to mean the same thing.

If anything, the Head Games album cover shows a young woman crouched beside a toilet in a public restroom, so the light-hearted meaning may be "head" as a slang for toilet.

"instead of making love, we play head games"

come on. this song is about fellatio. such an easy read.

No. More to do with deliberate misunderstandings - what the male is after is HONESTY.
