Well, this Mark's song talks about a person who feels he is going to die soon in the bed of a Hospital.
As far as I am informed Mark composed this precious song when he was having a really painful rehab in a hospital after the Valium incident which almost make to lose his both legs.
So the meaning is quite straightforward I guess, is a peaceful song that just tries to portray the resignation of any ill patient who is basically "In God's hands" You know.
