Saturday being an indefinate amount of time, (like tomorow). I find this song absolutley amazing and a true representation of Marks personality as it is like a joke. Lots of little sad but true jokes in Mark's music, for instance, "I knew this must of been a dream cause your mother would never let me in her house" It really puts a smile on my face and this is an absolute sparklehorse classic.

"I'd walk to hell and back to see you smile on Saturday..."

I get the feeling the song's almost from a child's point of view. The boy wants to tell her how he feels but puts it off for another day.

What better reason than the fear or rejection and having your illusions shattered...

Beautiful, beautiful song. I have to listen to it five times in a row cos it's so short.

Mark turns everything into childhood wonder and makes everything so much better than it actually is.

I could leave this song playing for hours.

This song is so sad in retrospect.. Always wondered what this one meant, and now it just seems like he was waiting for the right Saturday (whether or not that was intention: I think it's a sweet love song myself, the greatest. he was such a powerful lyricist). man. RIP Mark, I was a huge fan. love you and hope you're in a happier place now. <3

He goes on to say how wonderful she is, she even makes him play music out of a bad piano!

He's in love and he wants to tell her, but I think the realisation that he is in loveis a strong emotion too, so strong he keeps it to himself, just for a little while before he tells her.
