In Time Lyrics
I can hear what you're thinkin'
All your doubts and fears
And if you look in my eyes
In time you'll find
The reason I'm here
And in time all things shall pass away
In time you may come back some day
To live once more
Or die once more
But in time your time will be no more
You know your days are numbered
Count 'em one by one
Like notches in the handle
Of an outlaws gun
You can outrun the devil if you try
Byt you'll never outrun the hands of time
In time there'll surely come a day
In time all things shall pass away
In time you may come back some say
To live once more
Or die once more
But in time your time will be no more
I can hear what you're thinkin'
All your doubts and fears
And if you look in my eyes
In time you'll find
The reason I'm here
In time you may come back some day
To live once more
Or die once more
But in time your time will be no more
Count 'em one by one
Like notches in the handle
Of an outlaws gun
You can outrun the devil if you try
Byt you'll never outrun the hands of time
In time all things shall pass away
In time you may come back some say
To live once more
Or die once more
But in time your time will be no more

This song is so deep with meaning that it almost chokes me. It's a beautifully written song, and in the sense of The Punisher (from which it comes), it fits perfectly.
The scene where Mark Collie himself (Harry Heck, in the movie) comes in and plays it for Frank was an awesome scene. Very powerful.
It basically says how you can out run whatever is bothering you, but the only constant in your life is time. You'll never beat it.
Man. Love it.
when i hear this it reminds me of Johnny Cash...
It reminds me of Johnny Cash too! When I first heard it, before I looked at who sang it, I thought it was Cash for a minute!
This is a great song, I love it. I basically think of it like this, everyone is going to die someday. You can can run away from your problems, from people, maybe even from yourself, but you can never outrun time. In the end, it will all catch up with you.
@Pinkat Indeed, much of this stands to reason. but as Harry Heck arrives with his 'news', I say, while humanity sure has statistics to expect death, even the tiniest grain of sand against countless/-illions of chance may be that even that is not always inevitable, beyond human expectation. some things may not be all things after all. But I'd still well advise never to take one's time for granted, even if tomorrow is statistically closer to a guarantee, perhaps.

Though, in some ways, if it concerns whoever reads this message, one sure can outrun time - accomplishing something before opportunities would pass. happens often enough. just a - thought.
yes it was in the punisher, yes it was a powerful scene but it wasnt written for the punisher as anyone who is a fan of the punisher can tell you harry heck does not sing or play guitar in the comic books
When I saw Mark Collie, I was reminded of Johnny Cash and when I heard him sing that was reinforced. I found out he actually played Johnny Cash in a movie called I Still Miss Someone.
bad ass...
Basically, the song is about the Grim Reaper coming to claim His next soul.
