Wicker Chair Lyrics
In your little white wicker chair
Unsuspicious nobody cares for you
You’re so fucked up again
You laugh at nothin’ in the pouring rain
Try to tell yourself you’re not insane
You fool, I hate you sometimes
Hey, you know it ain’t coincidental that you’re lost in place
It’s drippin’ off your face, and you’re losin’ your precious mind
Send me a postcard if you get that far
You got a couple pennies in your rusty jar
The truth you’ve been gone for awhile
It’s hard lookin’ at you when you look that way
With your one night stands and your sleep all days
Ooh you’re such a slut sometimes
Hey, you know it ain’t coincidental that you’re lost in place
It’s drippin’ off your face, and you’re losin’ your precious mind
You’re losing your mind
"'Wicker Chair' is about seeing someone self-destruct and knowing there's not really anything you can do about it; it's melancholy." kingsofleon.com
During an interview Caleb Followill said, "Wicker Chair is a song about alcoholism ... and just about kinda losing it and not really realising it"
Wow...a true masterpiece...these guys are great and the words on wicker chair are just so true...
how can i hear this song was it done live or somethin?
this song is on the Holy Roller Novocaine EP. its the only song that didn't make it onto their first album "Youth and Young Manhood".... i cant understand why coz it is equally as good as california waiting, holy roller novocaine, molly's chambers and wasted time....
oh yeah and the byron is pretty much right.
I truly love this song. It's my alltime favourite by the Followills!! It's so sad...he hates her becuase he thinks she's crazy. It's so heartfelt. Haha, soppy me.
Yeah, its dealing with loss of sanity and the sad torture people around it have to deal with..
yeaaah such lovely lyrics you can tell the singer does love the person and is really hurt about the way they're changing for the worse.
Stay cool
everytime i listen to it i think of a junkie-girlfriend that he loves sooo much but he cant help her anymore... shes gone so far (with drugs?) that shes losing her mind... the line ''Send me a postcard if you get that far'' makes me feel sooo......oh the magic of fair music....
I think more, they're losing someone to drugs than insanity.
