seems to me he's pining for a lost love.... still in love with someone who care not a bit for him
this is my absolute fave song......... i think he wishes he could be with the girl again and she is just so coldhearted and uncaring ..
Most of this album seems to be about a fizzling relationship (perhaps Joey and Elizabeth?) I think this is a desperate attempt by the man to try and rekindle the initial spark in the relationship, but the girl just seems to have had enough.
I think it's basically about a guy who's dying to get back together with an old flame. Something makes me feel like it's about a high school sweetheart type of thing due to the line "for me those days were meant to last forever".
Btw it feels like "more than meets the eye" is the perfect follow-up to this song.
