in my suspicious attempts to get her close
enough to close my lips around her smile
now I can't close my eyes when she's around
and she's around
passing like the wind that shapes the clouds
she is around, she is around
and we're been walking in through that same front door
undressing like there were no parts to hide
and calling each other names we never had
you never heard
and then an unexpected turn
and we hit the curb
a stupid term, a fatal word
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my Melpomene
just like I'm sure you always do
without intentions but I know
that's how I broke away from you
now that the clouds are obsolete
I hope you landed on your feet
without those evil demons
keeping you reminding of...
as fragile hearts ran short of glue
as we're both running out of time
and seek to drown the fact in wine
it should be honest and naive
like we should give, we should receive
I must be jaded
fading out of function into solitude
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my Melpomene
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my Melpomene

I think this song is about someone he admires from afar, then he manages to initiate a relationship, then suddenly, time flies and they're in a relationship "undressing like there were no parts to hide", and then (as we all know) relationships get really complicated. And he watches her sort of implode and this is an observation of the tumult that is coming from someone he worships.

he he.great song.

very great !!

Melpomene is the Greek Godess of war. I think he's singing about she doesn't realise the pain she's putting people through including himself, but he'll stick by her. "You're my Melpomene" and "killing me with her sunshine " Just an idea? :)

Melpomene is not a greek godess of war, but the muse of the tragedy :) is one of the 9 muses, daugther of Zeus and Mnemosine.

oops i meant to correct wesk, nevermind...

maybe one of the best songs ever. really like the melody, and lyrics are great too.

Wonderful! One of my favourites of all time.
It's pretty hard to understand the lyrics the way it's ment to be. Too complicated and too personal. I think the story is about tragical love (that's why the title), maybe even not answered love. She's "killing with her sunshine".

GREAT.

It's written by a danish musician, Kasper Eistrup. It's about an infatuation, I'm sure. you broke the code just like i'm sure you always do without intentions but I know that's how I broke away from you now that the clouds are obsolete I hope you landed on your feet without those evil demons keeping you reminding of...
the war they pulled us through as fragile hearts ran short of glue as we're both running out of time and seek to drown the fact in wine it should be honest and naive like we should give, we should receive I must be jaded fading out of fuction into solitude It's my favorite Kashmirlyric. And my favorite Kashmir live song. I've seen them five times. The part of the lyric I want to write about is the one I wrote above this.. It's about someone who sees right through him and gets right throgh the "surfus" of him. I don't quite know how to put this, but it's about someone so sublime that she's killing him with her not being aware that she's his melpomene. It touches me and if only someone would write such a beautiful song to me. "Fragile hearts ran short of glue" says that a heart that has been through so much damage already that it hasn't got any glue left to fix it with now. I really love it! This song has meant so much to me and it still does, even though I don't listen to it as often as I once did.

surprisingly i just listened to this song a few days ago. actually i found out about it through melpomene. she is my melpomene!
