The Deep End Lyrics

I built my life like my bike on a rigid frame
nothing bends it only breaks into pieces and pieces
I waited for hope to arrive but it never came
Leaving me with only pain inside
I'm going off the deep end

I built my life like my bike on a rigid frame
nothing bends it only breaks into pieces and pieces
I waited for hope to arrive but it never came
Leaving me with only pain inside
I'm going off the deep end

Holding on is harder than it seems
When you're reaching for so much more
Seems so much easier to just give in
When you're reaching for so much more

Another wasted Saturday so here I stay
Where nothing seems to ever change anyway hey
All this hype about life bein' great
Where's the love for me these days
I'm goin off the deep end

Holding on is harder than it seems
When you're reaching for so much more
Seems so much easier to just give in
When you're reaching for so much more

go....

Holding on is harder than it seems
When you're reaching for so much more
Seems so much easier to just give in
When you're reaching for so much more

If you ask me, this songs about a guy that built his life around one central aspect, most likely a girl. When that thing fell apart, his life basically lost all meaning, hence the opening words. After that happened, he waited for things to start looking up, but things just kept bad, and now he's thinking about ending it all. I basically think this kicks ass. It's rocks. Hard. And that's always a good thing. Also, this song matches up almost exactly with a certain time in my life that I just got out of after being depressed for the better part of a year cuz of a girl i built my life around. In my opinion, this is the best song on the CD.

I really love this song. You're reaching for something and in some ways, you're almost like "why bother."

It's an outstanding song.

Hmm....this one is kind of confusing... But I believe its just the downs of life getting to you, more and more things happen each day, you try to reach your goals yet you continue to fail, adding more to the downs of life, making you all depressed, and pushing you even further into fustration, to where you just can't take it anymore, and you explode, or as the singer puts it, "Goin' off the deep end." Thats my outtake to it anyway. Very Great song.

Great tune, but very depressing lyrics.

It's very fitting that this is the song before "No Giving Up", which has a very optimistic outlook while this song shows the pessimistic and apathetic viewpoint.

I'm glad they put the positive after the negative. If this was the last song on the album then I'd be in a permanent depression. haha!

I just love this song. It makes me feel so morose.

This song is about how this guys life wasn't that great, and how he waited for just anything to come by and make it better. Now, he thinks about it, and realizes that it would be easier to just end everything.

this is a good song. it is how he has thought and the way he lives his life.

i think this song is about a person who lived life on the edge, not ever knowing what was going to happen, but despite this, this person held on to the thought of something being able to come along and change him and make everything better. But as time went on, this never happened and this person realized it would be easier to just let everything go.

-i bought this cd for a really good friend of mine and this was his fav. song on the cd. and whenever i was on the phone with him, it would be playing in the background. I had the cd 2, so i knew the lyrics but i didnt think much of it. I guess he was trying to point a veiw things out to me b/c a month later he was in the hospital for Oding. this song has a lot of emotions attached to it-
