This song reminds me and my friend..she was my best friend for over 8 years...a really long time to a teen...one day i just notcied it..she was changing it, doing things that were out-right mean to people outside our social group. I decided I didnt want to be apart of the cruelty, so i had to break off the friendship...i heard this song shortly after and it made me remember...Thats what i think this song means...
though one of my other friends has told me different and it reminds her of one of her past boyfriends, finally showing his colors when he hit her..Both i think are the right answers...
okay --- pretty much he's talking about a person that maybe he used to be friends with and then that person changed and arent as happy and fun as they used to be --- the colors arent the brightest like they used to be

I think it is about a person who is acting differently than usual or is just doing something really wrong. Or it could just be about someone who just changes sometimes and becomes really pissy, kinda like me when I'm P.M.S.ing. Just kidding, sorry had to add that. Its about someone that has become bitter or depressed because of personal issues(family problems, drugs maybe?)and these issues are slowly draining their colors. Friends can see the change in this person and are letting this person know that they know everything is not alright.

I think this song is about a relationship gone sour, wether it is boyfriend girlfriend relationship or extreamly close friends. Basically what happens is this person changes and creates new habits that are really not characteristic to their personality. They basically go gothic ( nobody understands me, im all alone) and push the closest friends they have out of their life. What he is trying to say is to remember that there are people here for that person and that they are not alone, that they are changing and its not who they truly are, and that they are truly loved.
